Curtis Memorial Library is seeking an experienced tech guru to the public and to library staff. Part IT pro and part teacher, the ideal candidate knows their way around hardware and software setup and maintenance, and is also eager to bring their skills to the public by teaching classes and providing one-on-one tech help to patrons. Flexible February start date.Primary ResponsibilitiesSetup and maintenance of staff and public PCs, printers and other hardwareSoftware installation, upgrades, and maintenanceTroubleshooting and assistance with the A/V system for staff and the publicServes as an emergency contact for any technology-related emergencies and as the secondary contact with the contracted Managed Service Provider (MSP), the VOIP phone service provider, the Internet Service Provider (ISP), and the Integrated Library Software (ILS) providerShares responsibility for adding and editing content on the librarys website via WordPressCreates and updates IT documentationProvides one-on-one technology instruction and assistance to patrons, including Tech Wizards drop-in serviceTeaches monthly topical technology classes to the publicAssists the Manager of Technology & Training with staff technology trainingWorks with the Manager of Technology & Training on special projects and technology planningKeeps up-to-date on emerging technologies to support both the librarys needs and the needs of the communityMay occasionally provide basic reference assistance and instruction at a service deskSkills and QualificationsExperience with Windows Server 2016, Windows Server Update Services, and Active DirectoryFamiliarity with:Adobe Creative SuiteIntegrated Library Systems (ILS) and databasesOffice 365 and SharePoint OnlineAbility to troubleshoot Windows, Android, and Apple operating systemsFamiliarity with managing a WordPress-based website (updates, plugins, etc.)Knowledge of filtering, security, and firewall applicationsExperience with library and public access catalog software a plus, but not requiredEnthusiasm for digital literacy and for sharing skills with fellow staff members and the communityExperience with teaching, training, and instructionExcellent communication skills!Ability to effectively communicate ideas and thoughts both verbally and in writingAbility to adapt to changing needs and to recognize and set prioritiesAbility to perform tasks requiring some bending, lifting, pushing, and walking; sufficient manual dexterity, ability to speak, and vision to perform job-specific tasksAvailability to work a varied schedule that includes occasional weekends and evenings and response to emergenciesBachelors degree in computer science, or comparable education and/or experience2-5 years of experience in technology-related positions
